We’re over the moon we stumbled over the Oriental Kwai in our search for boutique but luxurious accommodation in the Kanchanaburi area. I also had a foot massage in the spa which made me doze off to sleep as I fully relaxed.
We love Thai food, especially sweet basil dishes and plenty of chillies.
My absolute favourites were the Dory Penang Curry and Whole Fried Tilapia with Papaya salad. The cottages have all facilities to make your stay as comfortable as possible and are designed in a warm Thai style. The grounds are absolutely beautiful, whether around the cottages, in the restaurant/reception area, the pool or alongside the river. We booked a trip by longboat down to the bridge. The food here is superb.
