Each year the San Francisco Giants, in partnership with the USF's Master's in Sport Management program, award a year-long sport management internship named in honor of long-time Giants marketing and business executive Pat Gallagher.
Gallagher was the co-founder of the Emerald Bowl, San Francisco's highly successful annual college football bowl game and brought the IcerAir ski/snowboard event and, Brian Boitano's Ice Spectacular to AT&T Park resulting in the ballpark and the Giants organization being recognized as the "Sports Facility of the Year" by Sports Business Journal in the first year of their annual awards.

Most recently, Pat established and served as President of Giants Enterprises, a new subsidiary of the Giants, created at the opening of the ballpark to develop non-baseball ventures and business opportunities for the company. Giants Enterprises has been recognized as leaders in the professional sports industry for unique special event creation and production including over 1,000 public and private events of all types since the opening of the ballpark in 2000, most notably major concerts with the Rolling Stones, Dave Matthews Band, Bruce Springsteen, Green Day, Kenny Chesney, regular performances by Cirque du Soleil, Supercross and AVP Pro-Beach Volleyball and international soccer matches. This is the latest assignment for Gallagher, one of the longest serving executives in Giants history.
