However, a final flashback at the end of the second act reveals a dark secret that could tear the crew apart, just hours before they embark their first mission together. On the whole it is worth watching. The storyline is good, the acting is excellent, there are some awesome shots of Lancasters and a bombing mission at the end of the film is so well done, it makes the question of what was it like wholly redundant. War has been raging in Europe for more than 3 years. Buoyed by the success of the mission they turn for home, only to be hit and by a burst of flak. I couldn't warm to the characters in Lancaster skies and found the whole thing dreadful!! The year is 1943. Anyone who shits on Nolan's Dunkirk doesn't know how good they have it…A boring and dull bombardier film that is bookended by war scenes that are confusingly put together.Well, I found this movie so boring. some are respectful, others are NOT. The number of 'one-offs' for this, all stating what a great 10/10 film this is, shows that more needs to be done to stop the rest of us wasting out time. I thoroughly enjoyed this truly unexpected masterpiece. De boodschap is duidelijk luitenant Douglas Miller is hier voor een oorlog en niet voor grapjes of praatjes. I particularly liked the fact the script showed the human side, the fear and anxiety these young men and women suffered and the ripple effect it had! If you're here reading reviews with an eye to deciding whether or not you want to watch LANCASTER SKIES, the best advice I can give you is that it's very important for you to approach this movie with the proper frame of mind. Scenes drag out far longer than they should do with some very awkward dialogue scenes that seem to at times have way to many gaps between character replying to each other. Lancaster Skies.
